  TO SPEAK AS I MEAN is rooted in the Victorian-Era tradition of floriography - communication of complex, personal messages through the giving of flowers holding specific symbolism and definitions. Each of the following flowers is accompanied by written development of its Victorian meaning. Without context or character explanation, the text and images in TO SPEAK AS I MEAN serve as relics of unknown experience and intimacy, mirroring the practice’s delicate balance between detachment and sentiment. Both intimate and anonymous, the first-person expansions upon the flowers’ meanings encourage interpretation of both message and intent. TO SPEAK AS I MEAN is its own (POCKET FULL OF POSY).
